GUWAHATI: With one death reported during the last 24 hours, the total flood toll in State has risen to 110 on Monday. The casualty has been reported from Manikpur in Bongaigaon district.

On the other hand though the overall scenario has slightly improved, the main rivers and their tributaries are flowing above the danger level at various places. The Brahmaputra is flowing above danger level at Neamatighat in Jorhat, Tezpur in Sonitpur, and Dhubri; the Dhansiri at Numaligarh; the Jia Bharali at NT Road Crossing in Sonitpur district; and the Kopili at Dharamtul in Nagaon district.

As on date, 17 districts are affected by floods. These are Dhemaji, Biswanath, Baksa, Nalbari, Barpeta, Chirang, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, South Salmara, Goalpara, Kamrup, Kamrup (M), Morigaon, Nagaon, Golaghat, Jorhat, and Sivasagar.

As many as 3,88,914 people of 494 villages in 35 Revenue Circles have been affected. Total crop area affected is 32,028.83 hectares. A total of 38 relief camps have been set up in the State. Altogether 7,181 affected people are taking shelter in these relief camps. As many as 7,63,764 big and 4,07,838 small animals have also affected by the floods.
