SHILLONG, Jan 18: Meghalaya on Monday recorded three new COVID-19 cases while three other patients recovered from the viral infection.

With these new cases, the number of active cases remained static at 148, while the total number of recovered cases stands at 13,415, informed Director of Health Services (MI), DrAman War. Of the three fresh cases, two were recorded in East Khasi Hills and one in Ri-Bhoi district. Of the three recovered cases, two were reported from East Khasi Hills district and one from East Jaintia Hills.

Mentionably, East Khasi Hills remains the most affected district with 100 cases, while South West Khasi Hills, South West Garo Hills, South Garo Hills and East Garo Hills are presently free from the virus. Of the 3, 18, 901 samples tested till Monday afternoon, 3,05,194 tested negative. Dr War also added that 83, 874 persons have entered the State since restrictions on travelling was eased.
