GUWAHATI: As many as 22,809 students have applied for the special HSLC (High School Leaving Certificate) and AHM (Assam High Madrassa) examinations.

Talking to The Sentinel, SEBA Chairman RC Jain said, "22,809 candidates – 22,170 of HSLC and 639 of AHM – have applied for the special examinations. We will hold the special examination in consultation with the government as and when the Covid-situation improves."

Sources said that the 22,809 students who applied for the special examinations are mostly unsuccessful ones. Around 300 among them are ones who passed HSLC or AHM.

The source said, "Since the type of candidates ready to sit for the special examinations is known now, the SEBA has started the printing of hard copies of mark sheets. The hard copies of mark sheets will reach the schools within 10-15 days."
