Office files to have Assamese calendar dates

GUWAHATI: The State Cabinet took a slew of decisions on street vendors, government holidays, Assam State Space Application Centre, etc., today.
The decisions are –
(i) The finalization of the State government holiday list for 2022. The list will have 34 gazetted holidays, 31 restricted holidays, two half-holidays and 18 half-holidays under the NI Act.
(ii) From now, every State government file will have the Assamese calendar date along with the Gregorian calendar date.
(iii) The Cabinet waived the stamp duty necessary for street vendors while applying for loans under the PMSVANidhi. It will benefit around 52,000 street vendors of the state.
(iv) The Cabinet approved Rs 400 crore for the Chief Minister's Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana. The setting up of godowns, drier units and mini rice mills, besides the distribution of 1,000 mini-trucks come under this scheme.
(v) 'State GST reimbursement Scheme for the Majuli bridge project, 2021' approved for hastening works on the Majuli bridge, keeping in view a request from the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highway in this regard.
(vi) The Cabinet decided to set up a wildlife division in the Barak Valley.
(vii) The Cabinet decided to set up the Assam State Space Application Centre as an autonomous registered society, encompassing 24 departments. Dr PLN Raju will be the Director of the space centre. The government has already appointed Raju as a special secretary to the State Government.
