4 Assam Civil Service officers suspended

GUWAHATI: The Chief Minister's Special Vigilance Cell found irregularities in execution of works under the Members of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) fund of Ajit Kumar Bhuyan, Rajya Sabha MP, for the years 2021-22 and 2022-23. These irregularities and anomalies in execution of works and utilization of funds took place when ACS officers Sukanya Bora, Hemanta Kumar Dutta and Sharmistha Borah, were the presidents of the construction committee; and Munindra Bardoloi was the in-charge District Development Commissioner of Kamrup (metro) district. As per a notification issued by Department of Personnel, Government of Assam, dated March 18, 2023, Sukanya Bora, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (metro) district; Hemanta Kumar Dutta, Assistant Commissioner of Kamrup (metro) district; Sharmistha Borah, Deputy Secretary to the Government of Assam, Home and Political Department; and Munindra Bardoloi, Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad, Tinsukia, have been placed under suspension with immediate effect. During the period of suspension, the headquarter of Munindra Bardoloi shall be Tinsukia while the headquarter of the other three will be Guwahati.
