TINSUKIA: Close on the heels of Biju Gogoi alias Bhagya Axom's death at the camp of the United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) in Myanmar, four more youths hailing from the same area- Pengeree in Tinsukia district – are suspected to have been died in the ULFA-I camp. It has created a sensation in the locality.

Four youths, namely Nal Dahutia alias Ratneswar Axom, Xarukan Moran alias Arup Axom, Gambhir Moran alias Ananda Axom and Xurukoy Dahutia alias Mon Axom, all from Torani Gaon under Pangeree PS in Tinsukia district, had joined the outfit in 2011-2012.

As per information circulated in the area, Nal Dahutia had died in the camp due to mysterious diseases and the remaining three, namely Xarukan Moran, Gambhir Moran and Xurukoy Dahutia were allegedly killed by the insurgent group in the camp when they attempted to flee. A Tinsukia–based surrendered ULFA (SULFA) militant was quoted as informing Tinsukia police that the three rebels were killed in the camp, to which he was based prior to 2020, though ULFA higher-ups denied the allegation. The family members demanded that the ULFA-I should clear its stand in the public domain.
