GUWAHATI: Around 50 lakh Covid vaccine-eligible people (18+) are yet to take any vaccine dose in the state. This figure has prompted the State Health Department to set the target of October 10, 2021, to inoculate these people with the first dose.

Around 2.30 crore people in the state are Covid-19 vaccine eligible. The state has sufficient Covid-19 vaccine stock as the supply from the Centre is regular now. Till 6 pm on Thursday, 1,79,15,643 people got the first dose, and 50,29,419 of them got the second dose as well.

In three districts – Kamrup (M), Majuli and Jorhat – the department has almost achieved the vaccination targets of the first dose. Health officials are searching for the remaining few in the three districts.

The performance is not satisfactory in Dima Hasao, Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong districts. More than one lakh people are yet to get vaccinated in each of 22 districts in the state.

Till 7 pm on Thursday, the department inoculated 1,96,052 doses of vaccine. The vaccine stock this morning was 12,71,560 doses.
