GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday entrusted 58 sitting MLAs from the BJP, AGP and the UPPL with the responsibility of serving as 'Mitros of Ministers' to all Cabinet ministers. While four MLAs will serve as 'Mitras of Ministers' to each Cabinet minister, six will work as 'Mitros' to the Chief Minister. These ministers will be invited by their respective Cabinet ministers to dinner every second and fourth Tuesdays in a month. During the dinner, the ministers will discuss various issues ranging from society, country, state politics, policies of the State government and public perception and wrongdoings of the Government and public grievances. Each Cabinet minister will make notes of such discussions and later submit the same to the Chief Minister. Such notes will be discussed before each Cabinet meeting. Such a style of government functioning was followed in Gujarat when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of that State. Sarma has written letters to all Cabinet ministers and MLAs intimating them about such development.
