70,000 applications for 170 posts in Secretariat Administration Department!

GUWAHATI: Nearly 70,000 candidates have submitted their applications against 170 posts of Junior Administrative Assistant in the Secretariat Administration Department (SAD) under the Assam Government. The development is evident of the alarming unemployment problem in the State. The SAD published an advertisement on July 24, 2020 seeking applications to fill up 170 posts of Junior Administrative Assistant.

Eligibility criteria to apply for the posts were graduates in any discipline from any recognized universities with minimum aggregate marks of 45 per cent. The SC/ST candidates could apply for the posts if they had secured 40 per cent aggregate marks in the degree examinations. Candidates were required to have six-month diploma/certificate in computer proficiency from a recognized institute.

The last date for submission of applications was August 31, 2020. Since the number of applicants is huge, the government has decided to conduct the written exam across the State. The number of examination centres will also increase.
