GUWAHATI: Girls outperformed the boys in the CBSE Class-X final examination from the Northeast, the results of which were announced on Wednesday. While 79.12 per boys could clear the examination, 79.22 per cent girls could qualify it from the region. The overall pass percentage from the region is 79.03. Of the 60,910 candidates, 46,995 came out successful.
According to sources in the CBSE, Guwahati, while 24,265 of the 31,606 boys who appeared in the examination came out successful, 22,730 of the 29,304 appearing in the examination cleared it. The percentage of compartmental candidates passing the examination is 16.17. The total number of compartmental candidates in the region was 9,605.
The CBSE NE region has 996 schools with 336 examination centres.
