8,072 COVID-19 positive cases; 16 die in Assam

GUWAHATI: The COVID-19 caseload in the State saw a significant jump on Tuesday as 8,072 positive cases were detected. Along with the number of cases, the number of fatalities has also increased. On Monday, the number of deaths was 11 and today it increased to 16. The overall positivity rate is 12.62 per cent. In Kamrup (metro) district alone, 1,996 positive cases were detected today.
