The Chief Minister said, "In urban areas, the majority of the people took both doses of the vaccine. In interior areas, the maximum number of people has not taken the first dose. Our focus is on the people living in interior areas. We have set the target of October 30, 2021, to inoculate at least the first dose to all vaccine-eligible people (18+) in the state."
For inoculating vaccines to the people in remote areas, the Chief Minister today flagged off 15 mobile vaccination vans. These vans will cover remote areas in ten districts – Kokrajhar, Baksa, Sivasagar etc.
The Chief Minister said, "We appeal to the people to take the vaccines for their safety. However, many people avoid our appeal. Many people defy the Covid-19 protocol as well. Had the people of the followed the Covid-appropriate behaviour and remained indoor during the pandemic, such a large number of people would not have died of the virus in the state.
