GUWAHATI: As the State is reeling under flood, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar donated Rs 1 crore towards the 'Chief Minister's Relief Fund' for flood relief.
Acknowledging the generosity of the popular actor, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal thanked him. He also said that the actor has always been a friend of the people of Assam and his help would go a long way in easing the ordeal of the people facing the flood.
It may be noted that last year also the Bollywood actor donated Rs. 2 crores towards flood relief, Rs. 1 crore to CM's Relief Fund and Rs. 1 crore for the safety of the wild animals of the Kaziranga National Park, stated a release.
