All Assam Students' Union announces fresh series of agitation against CAA-2019 in Assam

GUWAHATI: The AASU (All Assam Students’ Union) on Wednesday announced a fresh series of agitation against the CAA. According to the new schedule, a sit-in demonstration with the artistes’ fraternity has been organized at the AEI playground, Chandmari here on Thursday. On December 21, AASU units along with women’s organizations will hold similar sit-in demonstrations across the State. On the day, this programme has been slated at the Latasil playground. On December 23, the same programme will be organized with senior citizens. On December 24, 26, and 28, protest rallies have been organized across the State.

During the remaining days, the AASU will organize various programmes at the local level. These include padayatra (processions), protest rallies, and meeting with the common people.

Announcing the programmes, AASU general secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi said, “Now, AASU will simultaneously carry on studies as well as agitations against CAA.
