GUWAHATI: The Justice (retd) BK Sarma Commission issued fresh notices to several ACS and allied service officers in connection with the cash-for-job scam in the APSC (Assam Public Service Commission).

The Commission will record the statements of the ACS and Allied Service officers. In the recent past, the Commission did issue notices to 39 ACS and allied service officers. They were arrested and are on bail now. The Commission will also record the statements of the 39 officers.

The Commission has already recorded the statements of 19 ACS and allied service officers in the scam.

Following a directive from the Gauhati High Court, the Assam Government had formed the one-man commission headed by retired Gauhati High Court judge Justice BK Sarma to inquire into the alleged anomalies and malpractices while conducting the civil service preliminary and main examinations by the APSC. The examination results were declared on May 12, 2015.
