APSC Cash-for-job Scam: More Documents Seized by Dibrugarh Police

GUWAHATI: A team of Dibrugarh Police led by ASP Surjeet Singh Panesar seized the mark sheets and scrutiny slips of the 2013 and 2014 batches of the APSC (Assam Public Service Commission) competitive examinations on Thursday. Panesar is the investigation officer of the cash-for-job scam in the APSC. The investigation officer made this fresh seizure of mark sheets and scrutiny slips known to the Court of Special Judge, Assam located in Guwahati on Friday.

If Dibrugarh police finds any clue from the seized documents, it may file another charge sheet to the court. Earlier, the investigators submitted the 11th charge sheet to the court and said that it might submit more charge sheets in the cash-for-job scam, if needed.

The seized records, according to sources, will be sent to forensic science laboratories.

Meanwhile, a bench of the Gauhati High Court recently directed the State government to release 50 per cent of the basic pay to a section of the accused ACS, APS and allied officers. According to government service rules, a suspended official of the State government can avail of one-fourth of their basic pay for the initial three months, and 50 per cent of the basic pay after three months.
