Assam Accord: PIL on Clause 6 panel's report

GUWAHATI: Gauhati High Court admitted a PIL (52/2022) filed by a person, Durlov Talukdar, on employment opportunities for local candidates based on the recommendations of the High-Level Committee on Clause 6 of the Assam Accord. The division bench has fixed August 26, 2022, for the hearing of the PIL.

The High-Level Committee recommended 80 per cent reservation of vacancies under the Government of Assam, State Government undertakings and 70 per cent reservation in the private sector, including PPP mode for Assamese people.

The petitioner filed the PIL to bring it to the High Court's notice and prayed for equitable relief.
