GUWAHATI: Dissatisfied with the Speaker's ruling on two 'Adjournment Motions' on Monday, legislators of the Congress and the AIUDF (All India United Democratic Front) staged walkouts separately.

The AIUDF had placed a notice for an adjournment motion relating to the eviction drives at Gorukhuti in Mangaldai. But the Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, Biswajit Daimary rejected this adjournment motion saying, "The issue is sub judice. Hence, the House cannot discuss it."

Dissatisfied with the Speaker's ruling, the AIUDF MLAs staged a walkout from the House.

The adjournment motion of Congress was on the land policy. Rejecting the adjournment motion, the Speaker said, "You have not attached credential documents in support of your adjournment motion. You have clipped some paper clippings. So, I do not see any ground for the admissibility of your motion. Hence, I have rejected it."
