GUWAHATI: A slew of decisions were taken at the meeting of the Council of Ministers that took place under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Wednesday. The decisions are:
* Service benefits to employees of Municipal Boards: Signing of agreement by employees on contractual basis; Enabling transfers between Municipal Boards; Additional Service benefits till 60 years of age. A Bill will be introduced in the Assembly.
* Allotment of land to NGOs: Guwahati Press Club (three katha); Karunadhara old age home (two bigha); Jatiya Swahid Parial Samannaya Rakhi Parishad (one bigha) — all in Guwahati; and Assam Anusuchit Jati Safai Karmachari Parishad (five bigha in Rangia) besides several other organizations.
* In principle approval of a new Campus of Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra at Dibrugarh.
* Renaming of PWD as Lok Nirman Bibhag.
* Adoption of Energy Conservation building code- providing for energy conservation in commercial buildings.
* Cyber Security Policy for the State.
* Amendment in the 'Integrated Sports Policy' of Assam providing for appointments into Class-I and Class-II Officers under different departments of the State like Police, Excise, Transport etc. Hima Das will be appointed in the Assam Police.
* Establishment of Bodoland and Sixth Schedule areas Administrative Staff College.
* Hills Areas Department will be renamed as the 'Assam Sixth Schedule Council Department'.
* Free Electricity in all households for consumption of up to 30 units a month for the period January 2021 to March 2021.
* Establishment of Mini Secretariat in Barak Valley (Silchar). Initially to start with the following six departments: Personnel, Revenue and Disaster Management, GAD, Agriculture, Fishery and Animal Husbandry and Veterinary.
