GUWAHATI: There has been a slight letup in the flood situation in the State. However, the Brahmaputra and a few other rivers have been flowing over their danger marks at a few spots.

According to ASDMA's (Assam State Disaster Management Authority) flood bulletin, the Brahmaputra is flowing above the danger mark at Neamatighat in Jorhat district, Tezpur in Sonitpur district and Dhubri. While the Jia Bharali is flowing above the danger level at NT Road Crossing in Sonitpur district, the Kopili river is flowing above the danger mark at Kampur and Dharamtul in Nagaon district. There has been no death in the past 24 hours.

A population of around 2,83,318 in 432 villages in eight districts have been affected by the fresh deluge. The districts are Biswanath, Goalpara, Morigaon, Hojai, Nagaon, Golaghat, Dibrugarh and West Karbi Anglong.
