Assam Government abolished 8,000 vacant posts of teachers

GUWAHATI: The Assam Government has abolished 8,000 sanctioned vacant posts of regular teachers (4,285 posts of lower primary schools and 3,715 posts of upper primary schools) under the Directorate of Elementary Education, Assam. These posts were kept vacant to maintain financial neutrality regarding providing of additional service benefits to the State Pool Teachers under SSA, Assam as per the decision of the State Cabinet in the meeting held on 26.05.2020.
