GUWAHATI: The State Government sanctioned Rs 59.59 crore as GR (gratuitous relief) from the SDRF (State Disaster Response Fund) for the flood-affected districts and sub-divisions.
The Revenue and Disaster Management (R&DM) Department issued approval letters to the deputy commissioners and the sub-divisional officers (civil) concerned.
The department sanctioned Rs 5.72 crore for Barpeta, Rs 1.12 crore for Bongaigaon, Rs 1.28 crore for North Salmara sub-division, Rs 55 lakh for Chirang, Rs 65 lakh for Charaideo, Rs 82 lakh for Cachar, Rs 16.60 lakh for Lakhipur sub-division, Rs 1.86 crore for Darrang, Rs 3.93 crore for Dhemaji, Rs 1.22 crore for Jonai sub-division, Rs 4.45 crore for Dhubri, Rs 1.34 crore for Dibrugarh, Rs 2.37 crore for Goalpara, Rs 1.18 crore for Golaghat, Rs 91.50 lakh for Hailakandi, Rs 80 lakh for Hojai, Rs 91.71 lakh for Jorhat, Rs 1.78 crore for Karimganj, Rs 3.88 crore for Morigaon, Rs 1.82 crore for Kokrajhar, Rs 1.48 crore for Nagaon, Rs 1.10 crore for South Salmara, Rs 1.33 crore for Sivasagar, etc.
Meanwhile, R&DM Minister Jogen Mohan instructed the deputy commissioners and the SDOs (civil) to provide adequate relief materials to the affected people, besides drinking water and medicines.
Departmental sources said that the government would sanction more funds if needed.
