Assam Government Shuffles Bureaucrats

GUWAHATI: The State Government transferred and posted ACS officer Nibedan Das Patwary as the Deputy Commissioner of the Charaideo district today. He was the Director of Sports and Youth Welfare. The Personnel Department issued a notification to this effect.

Existing Charaideo Deputy Commissioner Paul Barua has been transferred and posted as the Additional Secretary to the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.

The government also shuffled a few other ACS officers. Palash Barooah, currently the Secretary to the Finance Department and MD of Assam Financial Corporation, has been transferred and posted as the Secretary to the Department of Housing and Urban Affairs.

Joint Secretry to the Health and Family Welfare Department Pradip Timung, who also holds the posts of Additional Director, Directorate of Health Services, and MD of the Assam State Warehousing Corporation, has been transferred and posted as the Director of Sports and Youth Welfare. According to the notification, Timung will continue to hold the additional charge of MD, Assam State Warehousing Corporation.

The Secretary to the Assam Environment and Forest Department, Indreswar Kalita, has been transferred and posted as the Secretary to the Excise Department.
