GUWAHATI: Assam has a stock of 11,63,420 COVID-19 vaccines as on August 16 morning; while more than 1 crore people got the first jab; and 25 lakh people were administered the second dose till 6 pm on Monday. This was revealed by Health authorities.

On the Independence Day also, altogether 1,59,928 people were vaccinated across the State. The stock is increasing daily with the Centre providing anti-Corona vaccines regularly. As on date, the State has adequate stock of the vaccines."

Health department sources added, "Till 6 pm on Monday, a total of 1,17,32,883 persons received the first dose while 25,09,669 other people have been administered the second dose of vaccines. On August 16, the vax drive was carried out at 2,102 sites in Assam."

It has been also learnt that during the last 10 days (from August 6 to August 15), Kamrup (M) logged 1,417 positive cases followed by 567 cases in Barpeta and 458 in Lakhimpur District. During this period, South Salmara registered the lowest number of just 10 positive cases.
