GUWAHATI/DIBRUGARH: The Assam Police have warned youth resorting to bike stunts and said they would take drastic action against those not obeying this order. The Dibrugarh Police arrested three in this connection today.

In the wake of recent incidents of youths performing daredevil stunts on bikes, the Special Director General of Police (Law & Order), GP Singh, today appealed to people to inform the police if they come across any person performing such bike stunts. GP Singh tweeted, "People of Assam are requested to inform through a direct message about any place or persons indulging in stunt biking on a regular basis. Such displays on social media platforms may be brought to the notice of @assampolice."

Recently, a group of youths calling themselves Gang of Devil Bullies created panic among the people of Bilasipara by performing daredevil stunts on their bikes.

Meanwhile, Dibrugarh police arrested three stunt bikers and seized two sports bikes at Chabua on Thursday. They are Riktom Gohain, Dinakar Dulia and Palash Jyoti Rajkhowa of Chabua. In the said incident, the rider rode the bike lying prone on the vehicle while his two friends filmed the act.

"We have arrested them for the stunt, speeding and creating a disturbance in the area. A case (151/22) was registered at Chabua police station against them," said a police official.

"Stunts on a public road are a hazard for the public and the rider. Ride responsibly, stay behind handlebars or seek thrills and stay behind bars. The choice is yours," Dibrugarh police tweeted.
