GUWAHATI: A total of 391 persons lost their lives owing to COVID-19 infection in Assam in September. The highest number of 23 casualties was registered on September 12 followed by 19 on September 16. The lowest number of seven COVID-19 casualties was registered on September 3 and 5, stated a data of the Health department.
Most of these COVID-19 patients also had co-morbidities, said a doctor of GMCH, adding that among these casualties are not only the elderly people but also children.
The date-wise casualties during that month are as follows:
September 1 (nine); September 2 (eight); September 3 (seven); September 4 (15); September 5 (seven); September 6 (eight); September 7 (10); September 8 (eight); September 9 (18); September 10 (18); September 11 (16); September 12 (23); September 13 (16); September 14 (13); September 15 (10); September 16 (19); September 17 (17); September 18 (12); September 19 (eight); September 20 (14); September 21 (16); September 22 (eight); September 23 (11); September 24 (11); September 25 (17); September 26 (13); September 27 (17); September 28 (12); September 29 (13); and September 30 (17).
As on September 30, the death rate due to COVID infection in Assam was 0.39 per cent.
