Assam Revenue & Disaster Management Adds Sanitary Napkin & Baby Food in Essential Relief Items

GUWAHATI: The State Revenue & Disaster Management (R&DM) Department has added items for menstrual hygiene for flood-affected adolescent girls and women. The R&DM Department issued a notification stating that sanitary napkins and baby food will be included in relief items for the flood-affected people from this year.

It has come to the government's notice that adolescent girls and women have to face problems for such items as communication gets snapped during assam floods. The Department has instructed the deputy commissioners and the sub-divisional officers (civil) to execute this order during floods this year.
