GUWAHATI: The State Forest department was elated on Sunday after Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Assam for its role in the conservation of forest, water and nature. The PM's words of praise came during his monthly radio address "Mann Ki Baat".
Immediately after the conclusion of the Prime Minister's radio talk on Sunday, an elated State Forest Minister ParimalSuklabaidya took to his Twitter handle and expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"Hon'ble PM Narendra Modiji, in his 'Maan Ki Baat' programme today, mentioned about the increase in waterfowl birds in Kaziranga. This is a result of the significant biodiversity conservation measures that we undertook for the park in the last five years," tweetedSuklabaidya.
The Prime Minister's speech has also boosted the morale of the Kaziranga Park authorities. "It is a proud moment for us that the PM has appreciated our conservation efforts. All stakeholders particularly the Forest guards and other frontline workers of Kaziranga deserve such praise.
"After Modiji's praise, we will work harder for the bright future of Kaziranga," said a Forest department official.
