Cash-for-job scam: More officials may come under the scanner

GUWAHATI: More Assam Civil Service (ACS), Assam Police Service (APS) and other allied service officials are likely to come under the scanner of the police. The police team investigating the cash-for-job scam filed the 12th charge sheet today before the special judge in Guwahati.

Talking to the media today, investigating officer Surjeet Singh Panesar said that several candidates of the 2103 APSC examination might come under the purview of investigation. The investigators will summon them in the first week of 2022 to collect their handwriting samples.

Panesar further said that new information came to light against 23 of the 60 officials arrested in the scam earlier. "We have sought permission from the court for further investigation," Panesar said.
