CM Himanta Biswa Sarma expresses gratitude to PM Modi

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for acknowledging the efforts of the Assam government and its people in conserving the world-famous one-horned rhinos.

Sarma said, "The number of rhino killings dropped sharply from 37 in 2013 to just one in 2021 in the state. The Prime Minister didn't only acknowledge the role of people in anti-poaching efforts but also made us nostalgic by playing the Kaziranga Song of Sudhakantha Dr Bhupen Hazarika, a perennial inspiration for Assam."

State Forest Minister Parimal Suklabaidya thanked the Prime Minister for extolling the special efforts of the people and the State government on the one-horned rhino, Assam's pride and glory.
