CM Himanta Biswa Sarma hails Union Budget

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the Union Budget has its focus on poor and middle-class people. Since the Budget has its thrust on capital expenditure, the states will accrue benefits.

The Chief Minister tweeted, "I thank Finance Minister for granting further fiscal autonomy to states in incentivizing capital investment. It will strengthen the economic fundamentals of a resurgent new India. Doubling the allocation for PM-DevINE to revitalize infra growth in the Northeast. Amrit Daohar Scheme will ensure the optimal use of wetlands in our region. Glad that the Budget focus on tribal and indigenous communities with schemes like PM-PVTG for last mile development."
