Complete all PMAY-G houses by Dec 15: Ranjeet Kumar Dass

GUWAHATI: The State Government has instructed the officials of the Panchayat & Rural Development (P&RD) Department to complete all PMAY-G (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin) houses under construction by December 15, 2023. The government has also warned the officials of departmental action in the event of missing the target.

Speaking to The Sentinel, Panchayat & Rural Development (P&RD) Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass said today, “The department completed 15,25,884 PMAY-G houses from 2016 to October 30, 2023. And since May 10, 2016, when this government took the oath under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, our department has completed 11,21,576 PMAY-G houses. Thus, this government accomplished such a large number of houses in 30 months. From 2016 to May 9, 2021, the department completed 4,04,308 PMAY-G houses. Around four lakh houses are under construction. We have instructed the department to complete all the houses by December 15, 2023.”

Dass further said, “The officials meeting the target will get reward postings as per their will, and officials missing the target will face harsh postings.”.

Meanwhile, Dass reviewed the progress of PMAY-G houses at Azara Gaon Panchayat under the Rani Development Block today. During the visit, he interacted with the officials of the department and panchayat members. He instructed all to work with the target in mind.
