Congress-led 'Mahajoot' will form the next government: Debabrata Saikia

GUWAHATI: Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Debabrata Saikia on Tuesday stated that the Congress-led 'Mahajoot' will form the next government in the State after May 2. He asserted that the new government will work for the welfare of the people of Assam. Talking about the recently held Assembly polls, Saikia expressed his gratitude to the people of Assam for giving mandate for the next five years.

"We are sure that the mandate is in our (Mahajoot) favour," said Saikia.

Further, the CLP leader stressed that the COVID-19 positive cases have surged in the recent days. In this regard, he appealed to the people to follow the COVID-19 protocols and wear masks and maintain social distancing while celebrating Bohag Bihu.

"I hope that Bohag Bihu will bring a new year of peace, unity and development for the State," Saikia added.
