Consolidated NRC List To Be Published Online on September 14

GUWAHATI: The Office of NRC State Coordinator will publish the ‘Consolidated NRC list’ on September 14. The list will consist of names (family-wise) of all eligible as well as ineligible applicants.

Altogether 3,30,27,661 people (through 68,37,660 applications) had applied for inclusion of their names in the final NRC published on August 31, 2019. Of them, 3,11,21,004 were found eligible for inclusion while 19,06,657 applicants have been declared ineligible for inclusion in the final National Register of Citizens.

NRC sources have further informed that the ‘Consolidated NRC List’ will be available only on the online mode. People can check their names by logging on to www.nrcassam.nic.in.

Meanwhile, the NRC authority has announced that after the publication of the final NRC that consisted only of Supplementary Lists, “queries are being received from the public about publication of results of all members of a family irrespective of their involvement in the Claims and Objection process. The results for the complete family will be available for display online from 14th September, 2019. This display will be available only online.”

The National Register of Citizens authority has also informed that reasons for rejection of ineligible applicants will be issued shortly. The NRC announcement says, “Queries are also received from the public about issue of certified copies of rejection from Final NRC. The public are aware that the hearings have been held at various venues away from the designated NSKs (NRC Sewa Kendras). The process of collection of the orders passed by the NRC officers is being carried out to enable early availability of the same to the public to file appeals. Time frame for this process will be announced shortly.”

On the other hand, the complete draft NRC was published on July 30, 2018 with names of 2,89,83,677 NRC applicants. Thereafter claims were received from 36,26,630 persons against exclusion. Verification was also carried out of persons included in draft National Register of Citizens under Clause 4(3) of the Schedule of the Citizenship (Registration of Citizens and Issue of National Identity Cards) Rules. Objections were received against the inclusion of 1,87,633 persons whose names had appeared in the complete draft National Register of Citizens. Another additional draft exclusion list was published on June 26, 2018 wherein 1,02,462 persons were excluded.
