GUWAHATI: The State government has opened all schools from the primary level with the rider that the students cannot share any materials like textbooks, notebooks, pens, pencils, tiffin boxes, water bottles etc., with each other. Hand washing is a must, besides the daily sanitizing of classrooms after the school hour.
Education Principal Secretary B Kalyan Chakravarthy issued guidelines for the reopening of schools. The guidelines read –
Wearing masks by teachers, students and other stakeholders is a must.
All schools have to maintain the records of the vaccination status of students and teachers in separate registers.
Schools shall submit these registers to their revenue circle officers after every 14 days.
Daily cleaning and disinfection of classrooms, toilets, corridors etc., are mandatory.
Social distancing in classrooms and assembly places are a must.
Daily checking of the temperature of all students and teachers is mandatory.
Schools need to have separate rooms for isolation of any student/teacher in the event of detection of Covid-19 positive symptoms.
Whenever a school authority detects multiple Covid-19 positive cases in school premises, he (she) needs to close the school for a week.
Parents need not send their wards to school if the child feels unwell.
Practical classes should be in small groups maintaining social distancing.
One dose of the Covid-19 vaccine is a must for students of the 15-18-year age group for staying in hostels.
Medical teams should inspect kitchens and the mess of hostels once a week.
