GUWAHATI: The APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee) has placed the issue of cross-voting in Assam during the presidential poll in the court of the party high command. APCC president Bhupen Borah handed over a list of six Congress MLAs, who are suspected to have voted for the NDA candidate, to AICC (All India Congress Committee) general secretary and Assam in-charge Jitendra Singh in New Delhi.

Receiving the list, Singh said, "I will go to Guwahati and talk to the party MLAs. I will try to find out the cross-voters and take disciplinary action."

President Draupadi Murmu secured 22 votes from the opposition camp in Assam. The 22 votes came from Congress and AIUDF.

"I have done my duty by handing over the list to the AICC. The ball is now in the court of the party high command," Bhupen Bora said.
