Deputy Commissioners empowered to transfer 3rd & 4th grade employees

GUWAHATI: From now the deputy commissioners can transfer all third and fourth-grade officials and employees within the same district and department.

The Personnel Department issued a notification in this regard. The notification is, however, not applicable in the districts under the Sixth Schedule.

With this notification, the deputy commissioners can transfer third and fourth-grade officials of all categories, including junior engineers, medical staff such as nurses, laboratory assistants and others.

The notification further said that the deputy commissioners should consult the district line departments while transferring employees.

The move is to rationalize the workforce within districts and expediting scheme implementation.
