GUWAHATI: In the wake of the controversy regarding Tablighi Jamaat in holding its religious congregation at Nizamuddin Dargah in New Delhi, the Dispur-Mathura Nagar Jame Masjid Committee has prohibited the entry of Tablighi Jamaats in the masjid.

According to Mathura Nagar Jame Masjid Committee secretary Matiur Rahman, on April 1 the committee had a meeting that prohibited the entry of Tablighi Jamaat in the Masjid. He said that he has already made this known to all through the social media; and committees of various masjids of the State have welcomed the decision, and said that they would also take similar decisions. On the ‘Tarabi Namaz’ that is held in masjids during the Ramadan, Rahman said that it (Tarabi Namaz ) may be skipped in masjids if that clashes with the health department’s guidelines and the lockdown if extended. He said that this ‘namaz’ can be held indoors.
