Commission never held an ACS and allied services exam for such a large number of posts
STAFF REPORTER
GUWAHATI: Good news for meritorious candidates! The State Government has moved the APSC (Assam Public Service Commission) to conduct the CCE (Combined Competitive Examination)-2022 for 794 ACS, APS and allied services posts. The APSC did not conduct CCE for such a large number of posts earlier. The news of this large-scale CCE came close on the heels of the government announcing the examination dates for over 26,000 third and fourth-grade posts. It is also a record in the recruitment of third and fourth-grade posts in one go.
According to official sources, after approval from Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Personnel Department has sent a letter to the APSC to conduct the CCE for the recruitment of 794 posts of officers, including 86 ACS cadres, 66 APS cadres and 415 account officers in the Department of Finance.
Official sources said that considering the proposal from the government, the APSC would issue the advertisement in July this year. The APSC prepares the merit list category-wise. The departments concerned appoint the selected candidates.
The viva-voce of the CCE-2020 for 331 ACS, APS and allied services posts was also over recently. The APSC has not declared the results due to a case pending at the Gauhati High Court. The Commission will announce the results as soon as it gets permission from the court.
