The letter stated that the Government of Assam, Political (B) Department, Dispur, has informed the Office of the Special Director General of Police (Border) that "the newly recruited 200 FT members are to be posted shortly in the additional 200 Foreigners Tribunals. It has, also been informed that the newly recruited Members will be presently disposing the existing pending referral cases, till the rejection slips are issued by the NRC authority to the persons excluded from NRC.

Following the order, the officers concerned "will work out and submit the district-wise and FT-wise distribution of the pending referral cases (from the existing FTs to the new/additional FTs) for the districts under their respective Ranges. While doing so, they are requested to keep the geographical factors in mind so as to optimize the distance to be travelled by the 'procedees' (persons against whom the cases are registered) after distribution.
