GUWAHATI: The first woman IAS officer of Assam, Parul Devi Das breathed her last in a hospital here this morning.

According to reports, Das succumbed to COVID-19. She was the former Additional Chief Secretary, Assam and daughter of former Minister Ramnath Das.

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal condoled the death of the retired IAS officer. In a condolence message on Monday, Sonowal said that an example of dedication, devotion and diligence, Parul Devi Das' service towards administrative efficiency of the State will forever remain a source of inspiration for everybody. As an administrative officer, Parul Devi Das rendered important services to the people. Though her death is a loss to the state, her life is a source of inspiration which will continue to motivate the posterity.
