GUWAHATI:  Five films from Assam bagged as many awards, and actress Jahanara Begum got a special mention (certificate) from the jury of the 69th National Film Awards-2021 declared today.

Anunaad: The Resonance, directed by Reema Borah and produced by ASFCL, bagged Rajat Kamal as the best film on social issues; Anur (Eye on the Sunshine), directed by Monjul Baruah and produced by Gopendra Mohan Das, bagged Rajat Kamal as the best Assamese film; Boomba Ride, directed by Biswajit Bora and produced by Quarter Moon Production, bagged Rajat Kamal as the best Mishing film; Fire on Edge, directed by Pranab Jyoti Deka and produced by Risen Northeast NGO, bagged Rajat Kamal as the best anthropological film in the non-feature film category; and Hathibondhu, voiced over by Kulada Kumar Bhattacharjee, bagged Rajat Kamal as the best narration or voiceover in the non-feature film category.

Actress Jahanara Begum got a special mention (certificate) from the jury in the film Anur, starring Rajat Kapoor and written by Anuradha Sarma Pujari.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma congratulated the film stars and others who brought laurels to the state.
