Former Congress leaders Ajanta Neog, Rajdeep Gowala to join BJP today

GUWAHATI: Decks have been cleared for former Congress leaders Ajanta Neog and Rajdeep Gowala to join the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) on Tuesday.

Confirming their joining, State BJP media convener Dhurbajyoti Moral said that both will join the party at its headquarters here in the presence of State BJP president, Ranjeet Kumar Dass.

RajdeepGowala had resigned from the Congress earlier.

On December 26, Neog resigned from the primary membership of the Congress and also as an MLA of the Assam Assembly. Later during the day, she and Gowala met Union Home Minister Amit Shah. In another development that day, the Congress expelled Neog from its primary membership for 'indulging in anti-party activities'.
