'Free oximeter and first-line supportive medicines from today'

GUWAHATI: "From tomorrow (Monday), we will provide patient preferring to stay in home isolation a pulse oximeter and first-line supportive medicines completely free in Guwahati city. We have also activated the Tele Medicine service for them through 104. We will expand it further to other places soon," said Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Sunday.
He added, "There were two trends of COVID cases in Guwahati from July 16 to August 8. The positivity rate has come down from 18% to 4.5%. The number of positive cases per day is also slowing down. There is need to maintain this trend for a few more weeks.
With respect to the 'positivity rate', he said that while on July 16, it was 16.7% (Total cases: 598); on July 17, it was 16.2% (Total cases: 570); on July 18 it was 15.7 % (Total cases: 515); on July 19, it was 12.1 % (Total cases: 577); on July 20, it was 9.7 % (Total cases: 448); on July 21, it was 13.9% (Total cases: 570); on July 22, it was 10.4% (Total cases: 354); on July 23, it was 6.9% (Total cases: 219); and on July 24, it was 16.0% (Total cases: 417).
