GUWAHATI: Hearing a PIL (59/2020) filed on the BTC (Bodoland Territorial Council) election, a division bench of the Gauhati High Court has asked the SEC (State Election Commission) to initiate the process for BTC election.

The High Court bench comprising Chief Justice (acting) N Kotiswar Singh and Justice Manish Choudhury asked the SEC to conduct the polls "in terms with the decision of the Council of Ministers' meeting held on October 7, 2020".

The PIL has been listed for the next hearing on November 5, 2020.
