Hatigaon Police Caught Immigrant Worker

GUWAHATI: Raising concern over illegal infiltration of immigrants in Assam, an immigrant worker was spotted roaming the streets of Hatigaon on Thursday. The immigrant identified himself as Suman Miya (30) from Sulang-Ganj, Bangladesh. He was taken into custody by Hatigaon police, where he confessed that a broker had brought him along with three others to the country with the promise of work. Over time, he lost touch with his three companions and was idly wandering the streets when the locals grew suspicious and called the police.
