GUWAHATI: Due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation across the State, the SEBA (Board of Secondary Education, Assam) and also the AHSEC (Assam Higher Secondary Education Council) have postponed the HSLC/AHM (High School Leaving Certificate) examination-2021/Assam High Madrassa examination)-2021 and the HS (Higher Secondary) final examination-2021.
Authorities of both SEBA and AHSEC have also stated that the examinations will be held once the situation becomes normal. Appealing to the students and their guardians to have patience during the present situation, they urged the candidates to keep on preparing for their respective examinations. The revised examination schedules will be announced shortly after consultation with the Health department, they added.
Altogether 4,26,508 candidates are registered for the this year's HSLC examination while 12,275 candidates are slated to appear in the AHM examination-2021.
On the other hand, a total of 2,49,812 candidates are registered for the HS final examination-2021. Of them, a total of 1,91,860 candidates are in the Arts stream; 38, 431 in the Science stream; 18, 440 in the Commerce stream; and 1,081 candidates have been registered in the Vocational stream.
