Erecting a house/building? Make sure all fire safety measures are taken care of, besides obtaining a fire safety certificate from the Fire and Emergency Service. All you need to do is: apply to the local Fire and Emergency Service office with all necessary documents – land documents and the blueprint of the house/building prepared by an architect. In the event of the land leased out to another party, the builder will have to submit the application with all necessary documents, including a no-objection certificate from the land owner. All the documents have to be approved by the local civic body (the GMC in Guwahati).
On its part, the Fire and Emergency Service will recommend measures to be adopted in the house/building within a week. The Fire and Emergency Service will issue you a fire safety certificate after the completion of the construction, but not before a physical verification of the house/building.
The entire course can be done online also. You can visit the portal of easeofdoingbusinessinassam.in. You can fill in the form online and attach all the necessary documents mentioned above and submit.
