JICA team meets Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta

GUWAHATI: The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will fund the Assam Health Infrastructure Development Project (AHIDP) which aims to improve the health sector in the State. In this regard, a team of JICA met State Health Minister Keshab Mahanta today. The JICA team was led by the Director of the Human Resource Development Department.

Under AHIDP, super speciality hospitals will be established in the Silchar, Tezpur, Jorhat, Barpeta, Diphu and Lakhimpur medical colleges and hospitals. The Silchar, Udalguri, Hojai, Hailakandi, Darrang and Dima Hasao civil hospitals will be also be upgraded under AHIDP.
