BAKSA: BTC CEM (Chief Executive Member) Pramod Boro urged ULFA-I 'commander-in-chief' Paresh Baruah and other leaders of the outfit to join the mainstream of society for the interest of peace in the state.

Boro said, "Permanent peace is back in the BTR with most of the insurgent organizations joining the mainstream. The organizations that are still in their armed struggle should return to the mainstream in the interest of permanent peace in Assam."

Boro made this remark at Nagrijuli while inaugurating a girls' hostel in Khatarbari High School under Tamulpur subdivision today.

Replying to a question from reporters, Boro said, "In the age of science and technology, countries are moving forward for development. We, the people of Assam, and the people of BTR, must also move forward. We have to work together for our existence, national identity, language, culture etc.

"Everyone has to work with new strategies for the development of the state. We cannot solve the problem if one is pointing one's finger to another. Paresh Barua of the ULFA-I and other leaders of the outfit should come back to the mainstream and help in bringing peace back to the state. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is working with a positive note."
